Adrian Taylor: Builder, Taylor Built Homes 2006 Ltd, Taranaki

Adrian Taylor from Taylor Built Homes 2006 Ltd, began using Frametek steel framing many years ago.

A light engineer by trade, Taylor explains the properties of steel as a building material were inherently attractive.

"It was the concept that originally appealed to me. Steel is easy, it's light, and it stays straight – what more could you ask for."

Taylor says the fact that Frametek steel framing contains pre-drilled service holes means workers are able to speed up production time, saving both time and money.

"The beauty of steel framing is the built-in service holes designed for Sparky's. By making their job easier and more efficient, we are able to save more money in the long run."

"Being a lighter material, steel framing has many benefits particularly given the high costs of labour and transport,," adds Taylor.

"You really start to appreciate how light and easy steel framing is when you can deliver a medium sized house on the back of the ute and trailer to the building site. A week later, with some help from a couple of mates, it's up. No more cut throat labour costs."

Taylor emphasizes the long-term added value of steel framing over the more traditional use of timber.

"It's straight today, straight next week, and still straight years later. Sun, rain, heat, and snow – it stays straight!"

"The concept is so good you really can't go wrong."
